Filipino-Canadian Anglers Association of Manitoba

New for 2024 was the FAAM Catfish Showdown. We have traditionally held a members-only catfish tournament on Canada Day. Last year we decided to move it from the summer schedule and hold it in the middle of September instead. It is now also an ‘open tournament’ for any teams out there that want to compete.

2-person teams – 10 best channel catfish – Minimum 30″ to score

2024 Tournament RECAP

This year’s tournament had 14 teams compete. There were well over 100 Master Angler channel catfish scored! The winning team of Dave Piott and Jomar Sarmiento caught an incredible 26 with their 10 best scoring at 362.5 inches. They took home the first place prize of $2000 plus the Most MAs award of $250 sponsored by DarrenWojcik of Deputy Electric.

2nd place went to Corey and Glenn Pasichnyk who were only half an inch behind at 362″ with 25 MAs. They won $1000

3rd place was won by Eric and Nash Labaupa. They scored 358″ with 18 MAs in the boat. They won $500 and Top Youth $100 sponsored by Mike Dotoli of 2 Rivers Boat Works.
